Cultural Awareness Training

These cultural awareness training programmes are aimed at people who work cross-border with contacts from a broad range of different countries and who therefore need to develop a general understanding of the ways in which cultural differences can impact on cross-border business activities.

Typically, these training programmes run over either half-day or a full day and are designed to cover a wide range of business-related topics such as different meeting styles, attitudes to contracts, decision-making processes and cross-border communication.

The courses are designed to be intensely practical and of immediate value to delegates in their day-to-day business activities.

Country-specific Training

Country-specific Training

Many of the cultural awareness training programmes we run focus on exploring the cultural approach to business found in a specific country or a specific region. These training programmes allowed delegates to take a much deeper dive into a country or region which is of interest to the business.

These programmes can be extremely beneficial to people working with a major client in a particular country or when interfacing with colleagues in the head office or in a subsidiary company. Many of our clients have found these country-specific courses extremely helpful post-cross-border merger and acquisition activities.

A very popular approach to increasing levels of global fluency within an organisation is to run a series of general cultural awareness training programmes followed by country or region-specific courses. This process allows the development of both awareness and knowledge – the two key elements of global fluency acquisition.

Global Virtual Teams Training

Global Leadership Training

Global virtual team working is challenging – we can’t get away from that fact. People are increasingly being asked to work across the barriers of culture, language and time zones in global virtual teams and it simply isn’t easy. How can we ensure that virtual, multi-cultural teams are able to function as effectively as co-located mono-cultural teams? Who sets the benchmarks around how the team dynamics should work? Who decides what good leadership should look like when a team consists of seven different cultures? What does good intra-team communication look like and how can we avoid things slipping down cracks?

Hybrid Teams Training

Decades of office-based team working have been swept aside overnight and are being replaced by a rapidly evolving transition towards a hybrid team working future. All companies need to learn how to adapt to these new circumstances and Global Business Culture feels our suite of Hybrid Team training courses can help you to navigate this complex new future of work. We have 15-years’ experience in helping global clients work more effectively in virtual, remote and hybrid environments – we have not just addressed this topic as a response to the COVID pandemic – and that history means our Hybrid Teams training programmes are anchored in experience and practicality.

Cultural Assessments

The Individual Cultural Blueprint Indicator (ICBI)™ assessment is for individuals and teams to increase productivity, improve teamwork, and promote efficient communications within multicultural environments. The goal of the ICBI is to create awareness for each team member about his or her own cultural preferences, so each member can address challenges proactively from a place of knowledge and respect. Colleagues who have the visibility and understanding of how their work style is different to others on their team and to other national cultures, are more likely to work more effectively together.

Train-The-Trainer

Train-The-Trainer

If an organization decides to train internally, we prepare trainers in our train-the-trainer programmes. These customized programmes are designed according to the needs of the organization. The train-the-trainer programmes include both synchronous and asynchronous learning. The master trainer directs potential trainers to supplementary resources and references the extensive library on our Global Business Compass™. Our goal is to train competent instructors to train others on the materials and to recommend delivery best practices

Train-The-Coach

Coaching across cultures requires additional training for coaches to be successful. The train-the-coach programme increases cultural competence in this core area of knowledge and skill. Cultural sensitivity is critical when coaching clients. Intercultural competency enables coaches to co-create effective strategies with their clients to work more effectively in a multicultural environment (virtual or in-person). Our train-the-coach programme is a blended training approach which includes interactive virtual webinars and asynchronous learning.
